Volodymyr Yezerskyi: "In the final match with Serbia, my wards showed character"

Volodymyr Yezerskyi, the coach of the youth national team of Ukraine (players not older than 2002), sees great potential in the wards.

After the triumphant performance of the U-16 U-XNUMX youth team at the Milan Milianic tournament in Serbia, the head coach of blue and yellow Volodymyr Jezersky summed up the passing of the meeting in an interview with the official website of the FFU.

- Vladimir Ivanovich, your team won the second tournament in a row. Already have something to be proud of?

- Our goal is to enter the European Championship. Through such tournaments, with a high level of rivals, the guys gain experience. Unfortunately, there are almost no such matches in the Ukrainian championship. Therefore, it is difficult for players to quickly adjust. In addition, our clubs profess different styles of play. But due to the fact that the team met every month, we managed to achieve balance.

- You have repeatedly emphasized that at this age footballers are unstable. But, perhaps, your wards learn quickly?

- In terms of organizing the game in defense and attack, everything is more or less normal. But the positional game needs to be improved. We try not just to fight and take the ball, but to show good football.

- Who would you mark following the results of Mylyan Mylyanych's performance at the tournament?

- I do not want to single out anyone. During the competition, almost all the guys played at the level. And most importantly, I liked the team action. And in the final match with Serbia, my wards also showed character. Yielding in the course of the match, we won back, and then won on penalties. It is in such battles that the spirit of the victor is manifested. Such games show who you can count on in the future.

- The next meeting of your team will take place in August. Who will come to the Victor Bannikov tournament?

- These are the teams of Belarus, Georgia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Turkey. Opponents of a good level will be interesting. The only problem is that the timing of this tournament is not very convenient, as the DUFL competitions end in July, and, in fact, our collection coincides with the release of players from vacation. The players will be unbalanced, but there is nothing you can do, we will start from what we have.
