The FFU and the German Embassy have launched a new football project

June 12 in Kyiv as part of the official opening of the Ukrainian-German project "11x11 champions. Football for the development of youth and regions "was a friendly game of youth teams.

Under the solemn musical accompaniment, the young players took the field in the form of national teams of Ukraine and Germany.

The Ukrainian team in the symbolic match was represented by boys and girls from Volodymyr-Volynskyi (Volyn region), the German national team - players from Vyshneve (Kyiv region).

The holiday was attended by honorary guests - Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Dr. Ernst Reichel, Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine Lev Partskhaladze, First Vice President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Vadym Kostyuchenko, First Vice President of the Amateur Football Association of Ukraine Oleksandr Kadenko, legendary Ukrainian football players Oleh Kuznetsov, Serhiy Popov, Oleksandr Golovko and GIZ regional director in Ukraine Sabina Mueller. 

"Football is what unites people. And this is what, among other things, unites Ukraine and Germany. A few years ago you had a big football holiday - the European Championship. Then Ukrainians showed fans from many countries that they are wonderful hospitable hosts. You proved it once again when you recently hosted the UEFA Champions League final.

The action "11x11 champions. Football for Youth and Regions ”The German federal government wants to strengthen the importance of sport as a tool for regional development. Therefore, within the framework of the all-Ukrainian competition, 11 sports associations are selected, which are especially dedicated to the development of football among boys and girls. Each of these associations will receive financial assistance to improve training conditions. In addition, we are launching a training program for managers of these football clubs and sports associations, "said the German ambassador.

In his speech, Leo Partskhaladze noted the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Regional Development and FFU. In particular, more than 300 state-of-the-art football fields were built across the country last year alone. According to one of the ministry's leaders, this year's result is equally impressive.    

"The Football Federation of Ukraine is doing everything to develop football not only in the central regions, but also in the most remote corners of the country. We thank our German friends for their help in this and for their significant support in the development of football in the regions. Congratulations from the FFU President Andriy Pavelko and the head coach of the national team Andriy Shevchenko to the participants of this unique match! All young football players who will take part in the match will receive certificates for free attendance at national team matches, "Vadym Kostyuchenko said. 

Needless to say, the joy of the children who received gifts from the guests of honor before the match. 

And an interesting match ended with the victory of the players who were dressed in the uniform of the national team of Ukraine - 3: 0.

"11x11 champions. Football for the Development of Youth and the Regions ”is a joint Ukrainian-German project to be implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in cooperation with Germany. Of Ukraine and the Amateur Football Association of Ukraine. With this project, the German federal government aims to emphasize the importance of mass amateur football as a tool for regional development and a basis for the development of professional sports. 

Within the next 10 months, 11 sports clubs will be selected as part of the nationwide competition, which will receive financial support to improve conditions in sports facilities and purchase modern equipment.
