The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by three countries at once!

Today at the 68th FIFA Congress, it was decided that three countries would host the 2026 World Cup  USA, Canada and Mexico. 

In the vote, this proposal defeated Morocco (134: 65).

By the way, in late May I visited Kyiv football home with a working visitand the presidents of the US and Mexican football federations, Carlos Cordeiro and Desio de Maria, and the general secretary of the Canadian Football Federation, Petro Montopoli. During the meeting, the foreign guests presented to the President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko a joint application of the three countries for holding the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to Carlos Cordeiro, the sports infrastructure of the United States, Mexico and Canada is already ready for this majestic football event, and the average capacity of all the stadiums declared for participation in the World Cup, and more than 20, is about 68 thousand seats.

"One of the main principles of our application is unity. We reached an understanding with our colleagues from Mexico and Canada on all key issues of preparation for the 2026 World Cup. And this is the main advantage of our application, "said the then president of the US Football Federation.  

We will add that for the 2026-World Cup for the first time 48 teams will perform in the history.

Recall that the World Cup 2022 will be held in Qatar.
