Amateur national teams of Lviv region and Sumy region will play their way to the UEFA Cup of Regions

June 23 at the stadium of NTK FFU. V. Bannikov will host the final match of the Cup of Regions of FFU-2018.

The amateur regional teams of Lviv and Sumy regions will meet in the match which starts at 16.00. The winner of the tournament will be eligible to represent Ukraine in the UEFA Cup 2018/2019.

It will be recalled that in November last year, Ukraine received the right to host the qualifying round of the UEFA Regions Cup 2018/2019. The group, in addition to the team from Ukraine, included representatives of Spain, Azerbaijan and Finland. The competition will take place from October 2 to 10 this year. Only the winner of the group will receive a ticket to the decisive round. The final competitions of the prestigious European amateur tournament will take place in June 2019.

The second time - in this format

From April 24 to May 16, the FFU Regions Cup qualifying competitions among amateur regional national teams took place. On May 16 in Ivano-Frankivsk and Sumy at the stadiums "Hat-trick Arena" and "Jubilee" the participants of the final match were determined. In the semifinals, the team of Lviv region defeated the team of Ivano-Frankivsk region, and the main time of the meeting ended in a draw (the winner was determined only by a series of post-match 11-meter kicks - 7: 6), and the team of Sumy region won a convincing victory over the team of Odessa region ).

In this format, under the auspices of the FFU, the competition is held for the second time. Previously, the right to participate in the UEFA Regions' Cup was awarded to the winning team of the Amateur Championship of Ukraine. The winner of last year's draw, the national team of Kirovohrad region, in 2016 was able to win the qualifying round and participated in the final tournament in Turkey in 2017. Lviv region will play in the final of the FFU Regions Cup for the second time in a row.
