Gennady Zubov: "The nerves of our guys in the penalty shootout were stronger"

The head coach of the winners of the DUFL U-15 championship Gennady Zubov commented on the success of Shakhtar Donetsk in the final game against Dynamo Kyiv, which took place on July 1 in Shchaslyvy and ended with the victory of the Pitmen in a penalty shootout (7: 6):

- For our guys this is the first championship they went to for two years. In my opinion, the final turned out spectacular, with intrigue and kept us all in suspense until the final whistle. The guys showed character, and this also applies to our opponent, who equalized in the last minute of regular time.

A series of penalties is a psychological struggle. But we were a little luckier, we were psychologically more resilient and jumped over this barrier. Although we missed a goal at the end of the match, we coped with it with dignity and won a series of penalties, proving that we deserve the championship.

Of course, the confrontation between Dynamo and Shakhtar also exists at the children's and youth level. We treat him as a "classic", all our players understand and realize this.
