Ukraine Beach Beach Team defeats Portugal in second leg of Euroleague 2018

In the second match of the second qualifying round of the 2018 Euroleague in Nazareth, the Ukrainian beach soccer team snatched victory from the Portuguese team.

After an unfortunate defeat in the Portuguese qualifying round of the Euroleague in a match against Spain (6: 6, on penalties - 3: 4), the wards of Eugene Varenitsa met today with the hosts of the tournament. Apparently, the blue and yellows gathered and opened the scoring in the 8th minute of the first period. However, in four minutes the Portuguese managed to win back with the efforts of Joao Gonçalves. And yet the first 12 minutes were left for the wards of Yevhen Varenytsia. A second before the break, Maksym Voitok put the Ukrainians ahead - 2: 1.

The second period was also left for the national team of Ukraine. The Portuguese team managed to respond to the goals of Vitaliy Sydorenko and Oleksandr Korniychuk only with a ball by Leonardo Martins. In the last third of the game, Mario Narciso's charges desperately tried to win back, but could only reduce the gap with our team. Jordan Santos scored from the penalty spot. In the end, 4: 3 is an extremely important victory for the national team of Ukraine.

In another match of our group Spain team with a score of 4: 0 defeated Turkey. Thus, after two rounds of the selection stage in Nazare, the Ukrainian national team is second, ahead of Portugal by additional indicators. Overall, in the two-stage tournament, she has 10 points, which will allow Sardinia to play in the 2018 Euroleague Super Final in September.

Standings 

Tomorrow, the Blue and Yellows will hold their third match at this qualifying stage. At 18.30 pm Kyiv time, Ukraine will start a match with Turkey.
