The Ukrainian Amateur Championship started with a record number of participants

For the first time since 2001 in the tournament 35 amateur groups are divided into three groups (two of 12 teams and one of 11).  

Among them are recognized leaders, winners, prize-winners and long-term participants of all-Ukrainian competitions, as well as debutants, whose human potential testifies to the intention to compete for the highest places in the championship of Ukraine-2018/2019.

For the third season in a row, the championship is held according to the "autumn-spring" system, which allowed to increase the number of participating teams, as well as increase the popularity of the competition. All matches take place on Saturday and Sunday, thanks to which the fan interest in the tournament has grown, and the best teams can switch to professional football without obstacles on a sports basis. Yes, this year the four best amateur teams will get to the second league.

As for the format of the current championship, after the games in groups, the eight best teams will be determined, after which the quarterfinals, semifinals (two matches - at home and away) and the final, which will be held on a neutral field - NTK. V. Bannikov in Kyiv.

It should be noted that Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Ternopil and Rivne regions became the leaders in terms of representation in the amateur championship. Luhansk, Zhytomyr, Odesa, Poltava, Chernivtsi and Volyn regions are not represented in the championship yet. At the same time, representatives of these regions will submit their applications for participation in the Cup of Ukraine among amateurs.
