Vadim Kostyuchenko: "Football helps open young leaders"

The Network Camp for Young Leaders of the Open Football Lessons Project, which took place on August 14-16 at the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, came to an end in Kharkiv.

During three days, 100 young men and women from nine regions, where this year the project "Open Football Lessons" was implemented - Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Kherson regions, received knowledge and a new interesting football and life experience. This year, they were volunteer assistants during mass football festivals in their regions.

The camp program included many practical classes at the wonderful new stadium of KhNUVS, teaching the basics of coaching skills, teaching mediation and mentoring skills, personal development classes, communication for the purpose of social transformation.

"Football helps to discover young leaders," said FFU First Vice President Vadym Kostyuchenko. "For the first time in Ukraine in this format, we held a camp for young leaders, who will undoubtedly become volunteers in grassroots football in the future, and most importantly - active participants in positive social change in their communities."

In addition to the specialists of the Football Federation of Ukraine, the network camp was conducted by the world's best experts, representatives of well-known organizations - partners of the StreetFootballWorld project from Germany and the Association of Cross-Cultural Projects from Denmark.

As a result of the camp, they proposed to hold another similar international event in Ukraine this year and provide appropriate financial support for the project.
