Beach Soccer Team of Ukraine to find out the names of rivals at the II European Games next year

The national team of Ukraine in beach soccer, taking seventh place in the Superfinal of the Euroleague 2018, won the right to perform at the II European Games in Minsk. 

Ukraine's beach soccer team is in the match for the seventh place of this Euroleague draw won in Azerbaijan - 5: 1. Thanks to this the wards of Eugene Varenytsa received a pass to the II European Games, which will be held on June 21-30, 2019 in the capital of Belarus.

These competitions are held under the auspices of the European Olympic Committees every four years and will be held for the second time. Baku hosted the first Games in 2015. 5730 participants competed in 30 sports, including beach soccer. Our team took part in the tournament in Azerbaijan and took the sixth place there. In the overall medal standings, Ukraine finished eighth, winning 46 awards (eight gold, 14 silver and 24 bronze). 

In Minsk, they plan to slightly reduce the number of sports and participants. It is estimated that 4000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 15 sports (23 disciplines) at the II European Games. However, beach soccer remained in the program, and the number of participants in the tournament remained unchanged - eight. A new arena for beach sports with a capacity of 1500 spectators will be built especially for the Games in Minsk.

All participants of beach football competitions have already decided. In addition to the national team of Ukraine, the hosts of the tournament - the national team of Belarus - qualified for the II European Games. Spain, Italy, Russia, Portugal, Switzerland and Romania also received permits. The draw for the group round will take place next spring.
