Officially. Information from the FFU Ethics and Fair Play Committee
The Ethics and Fair Play Committee considers it necessary to inform about the strict observance by the Football Federation of Ukraine of the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention against Manipulation of Sports and the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption Offenses on the Results of Official Sports".
Thus, in October 2017, members of the Committee on Ethics and Fair Play of the FFU, together with the leadership of the Children's Youth Football League of Ukraine and its clubs, blocked the transmission of statistics online from sports competitions in which players under the age of 18 years participated. The result of such measures was the inability to place bets on bookmakers' organizations for the competition data and the complete absence of contractual matches in the future for the purpose of obtaining undue advantage.
At the same time, during the XV International Football Tournament in memory of V. Bannikov, which took place in Kyiv and Kyiv region on August 15-19, the staff of the Ethics and Fair Play Committee found that the matches of this tournament with the participation of national teams U- 17 were offered to place bets by bookmakers in different countries. FFU representatives were scouts of intermediary companies at the stadiums, who passed statistics to bookmakers, but even after they were expelled from the stadiums where the tournament matches took place and appealed to their management, the offer to place bets on the next matches did not stop.
The FFU strongly condemns the practice of transmitting online statistics on events on the field to bookmaking organizations in the competitions of youth teams and urges those involved in this activity to refrain from it. The anonymity of their work carries serious risks to the observance of sporting principles in football and is one of the key factors contributing to the organization and holding of contract matches.
FFU is taking the initiative to regulate legal relations regarding the transmission of statistics on events in matches with youth teams to online bookmakers and has appealed to the largest market operators operating in Ukraine. FFU as the administrator of this sports information proposed the settlement of legal relations on contractual terms.
In the absence of agreement with the intermediary companies, the FFU will be forced to take steps to prevent betting on all competitions held under the auspices of the Federation.
