The midfielder of the national team of Ukraine celebrated his 29th birthday with a goal pass in the home match of Schalke against Mainz.

Yevhen Konoplyanka appeared in the home team's starting lineup and in the 11th minute gave a targeted flank pass, which Alessandro Schopf converted into a goal. The Ukrainian played until the final whistle, hit the crossbar twice during the match, and his team won a hard victory with a score of 1: 0.

The victory was the first for Schalke in the Bundesliga 2018/2019. With three points Gelsenkirchen occupy the penultimate place in the table.
