First League: Sumy continues to swing, and Star to lose

Something incomprehensible has been happening lately with Sumy footballers. Even after the 4th round, they were among the leaders, and then their performances began to resemble swinging: victories and draws alternated with defeats, and even with a crushing score. In the 6th round, the "citizens" lost to "Avangard" - 0: 6, then - "Dnipro-1" - 0: 4. They conceded six goals and the day before yesterday - from "Colossus".

Although in the previous round, in Ivano-Frankivsk, it seemed that "Sum" has no problems with fighting qualities. But in the confrontation with the blacksmiths, they turned out to be just boys to beat. Having missed in the debut after a shot from outside the penalty area by Oleg Ilyin, Serhiy Zolotnytsky's wards soon remained in the minority: endurance betrayed goalkeeper Artem Shtanko, who was removed for a handball outside his possession. His backup, Andriy Bubentsov, did not have time to recover, as he had to take the ball out of the net after a free kick by Vitaliy Havrysh. The Sumy footballers continued to make gross mistakes in simple situations, and it is good that only six goals were conceded - the guests missed several times from the killer positions.

Note that the undefeated series of "Colossus" reached 12 matches, and five consecutive away victories allowed him to gain a foothold in the top group.

"In this match, I decided to give a chance to those players who did not have enough playing practice," said Kolos manager Ruslan Kostyshyn. - They all played well, and now I have a nice problem - who to entrust a place in the "start" in the next match. We managed to score a quick goal in Sumy, and when the opponent remained in the minority and missed the second time, the question of the winner could be removed from the agenda… »

As for the Sumy footballers, if they do not unite and draw the right conclusions from the recent failures, they will not be able to avoid relegation. By the way, Zirka, which suffered its sixth defeat in a row, seems to have come to terms with this.

Agribusiness players are unable to celebrate their first victory. In the match with Rukh, they made a lot of efforts to break this series, even opened the score after a shot by Andriy Skakun, but in the second half the guests added momentum and escaped defeat - said Alexander Batalsky. Although for the ambitious "Movement" a draw in the confrontation with "Agribusiness" is a small consolation.

It was difficult in this round to give points to teams claiming promotion. In Lutsk "Volyn" snatched a victory from uncompromising "Nikolaev" in the compensated time thanks to obstinacy of the stopper Mikha Goropevshek. He joined the offensive, literally rammed the defensive redoubts of the guests, and the ball ended up in Denis Kozhanov, who sent it into the unprotected goal. 1: 0.

In the Dnieper, the main events unfolded in the second half. In the 71st minute, Roman Barchuk from Prykarpattia opened the scoring, taking advantage of a mistake by the home goalkeeper Valery Yurchuk, but in 10 minutes Stanislav Kulish restored parity, realizing a penalty. And in the fifth (!) Compensated minute, the guests lost Oleksiy Chichikov in their penalty area, who struck well, and Dnipro-1 won a strong-willed victory.

In Kharkiv, in a match with the Girnyk-Sport team, Metalist 1925 players managed to materialize their territorial advantage in the goal scored only at the end of the first half, when Serhiy Davydov reminded of his scoring qualities again. Immediately after the break, Vadim Zhuk forced the guests to capitulate for the second time. But in the 84th minute Igor Sikorsky returned the intrigue. 1: 2 - and the hosts had to concentrate as much as possible to keep the winning score.
