The ex-coach of the national team of Ukraine Oleg Basilevich has passed away

In Kiev, after a serious and prolonged illness, a prominent Ukrainian footballer, Honored Coach of the USSR and Ukraine, Oleg Basilevich, died.

The football community has suffered a heavy loss. At the age of 81, Oleg Bazylevych's heart stopped beating. In the 60s of the last century, the striker of Kyiv "Dynamo" won the love and respect of fans with bright performances in the white and blue, won the title of champion of the USSR in 1961 and winner of the Union Cup in 1964, six times was included in the list of 33 best football players of the country.

Oleg Petrovich's coaching career was also outstanding. In tandem with Valery Lobanovsky, he was one of the founders of the famous Dynamo team of the 70s, the initiator of the introduction of advanced scientific developments in the training process. As a coach he became the champion of the USSR in 1974, 1975, the winner of the Cup of the USSR in 1974, the Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup in 1975.

For many years, Oleh Bazylevych served Ukrainian football in various positions, took a direct part in the formation of the national team of independent Ukraine, becoming one of its first coaches in difficult times.

President Andriy Pavelko and the entire Football Federation of Ukraine express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Oleg Petrovich and fans of his talent.
