Antalya will become the fifth Turkish city where the Ukrainian national team will play
As you know, November 20 is ours the national team will hold a friendly match with Turkey in Antalya. For the fifth time in the history of Ukraine, the national team of Ukraine will play against the Turks on the opponent's field. Interestingly, all previous matches took place in different cities and, accordingly, in different stadiums.
On May 1, 1996, our team lost to the Turks 2: 3 in a friendly match in Samsun. By the way, one of the goals was scored by the current coach of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Shevchenko, and the other - Timerlan Huseynov.
On February 12, 2003 in Izmir in a friendly match Turkey - Ukraine was recorded a zero draw.
On November 17, 2004, our team won a convincing victory over its rival (3: 0) in Istanbul in the qualifying round of the 2006 World Cup. Andriy Shevchenko upset the Turks again (twice). Another ball was scored by Oleg Gusev.
Finally, on October 6, 2016 in Konya in the qualifying match of the 2018 World Cup again there was a draw, but this time the result - 2: 2. Andriy Yarmolenko and Artem Kravets scored goals for Andriy Shevchenko, the coach of the national team.
