According to a preliminary agreement between the Football Federation of Ukraine and the Turkish Football Federation, the match between the national teams of Ukraine and Turkey was to take place on November 20 in Dnipro. But in the process of direct preparation for the match, circumstances arose that influenced the change of venue.
"In particular, the representatives of the Turkish Football Federation drew our attention to the projected sharp deterioration of the weather in the Dnieper in the second half of November and asked to postpone the match to Turkey. This issue was also discussed in a telephone conversation by the head coaches of both teams - Andriy Shevchenko and Mircea Lucescu.
In addition, during the preparation of Dnipro-Arena for the match with Turkey, it became clear that the stadium's backup power supply systems had failed. The problem could be solved before the match, but it required serious additional effort and financial costs. In addition, such operational repairs did not give a XNUMX% guarantee of quality operation of electrical equipment during the game.
For the Football Federation of Ukraine, Dnipro-Arena is an important object in expanding the geography of high-level international matches in Ukraine. And UEFA's decision to certify Dnipro-Arena as an international stadium depended on the successful holding of the Ukraine-Turkey match. FFU was ready to make all necessary efforts to organize a meeting of the national teams of Ukraine and Turkey in the Dnieper. However, taking risks in this situation would be extremely reckless. After all, the return of big football to the Dnieper is a priority!
Therefore, after weighing all the pros and cons, it was decided to consider the request of the Turkish Football Federation. With the consent of the coaching staff of the national team of Ukraine, we held talks, which ended only on November 7. And after agreeing on all the conditions of the Ukrainian team's stay, as well as the amount of compensation to be paid by the Turkish Football Federation, we agreed to play in Turkey on November 20. Please note that the Turkish side will also bear all costs associated with the flight and accommodation of the national team of Ukraine in Turkey during the five-day training camp.
After agreeing on the transfer of the game, we will have the opportunity to conduct a detailed diagnosis of power grids "Dnipro-Arena". There is a preliminary decision of the leadership of the Football Federation of Ukraine that FFU at the expense of compensation received from the Turkish federation, will participate in financing the full restoration of the power supply system of the stadium, which belongs to the state, "said FFU Marketing »Roman Volynets.
Thus, the control match between the national teams of Ukraine and Turkey will take place on November 20 in Antalya at the central stadium "Antalya" (beginning - at 19.30 Kyiv time).
