Head coach of the Slovak national team Pavel Gapal: "The match with the Ukrainians is extremely important in terms of the tournament situation"

Head coach of the national team of Slovakia Pavel Gapal at a press conference on the eve of his team's matches with Ukraine and the Czech Republic answered questions from media representatives. 

On November 12, the Slovak national team gathered for the first training camp under the leadership of Pavel Gapal. The "representation" will prepare for the meetings in the League of Nations with Ukraine and the Czech Republic at its base in Shamorin, 25 km from Bratislava.

Before the start of the gathering, a mentor from the Slovak team told reporters about the tasks facing his mentees.

"We know the situation in the group and mathematics too. Both meetings are important, and we will prepare for each one separately. We have to take points in the match against Ukraine to go to Prague with the understanding that we just need a victory, not a victory with a difference of two goals. Of course, we will do everything possible to win both matches, "said Pavel Gapal.

"We will work on developing our own style of play. The coaching staff has ideas that we and the team will try to implement. We will provide players with maximum information on both the national team of Ukraine and the national team of the Czech Republic. The match with the Ukrainians is extremely important from the point of view of the tournament situation. I want to invite the spectators to come and help us at the beautiful stadium in Trnava. I am sure that the crowded stands will force the players to do everything possible and impossible to please the fans, "said the coach.

"We will gather closer to tonight and pass a test that will show the condition of each player. Then we will discuss tomorrow, the program, strategy and tactics of the training process. Yes, step by step, and we will move to future matches ", - summed up the head coach of the national team of Slovakia.

It will be recalled that the Ukrainian national team will play its last match of the group round of the League of Nations on November 16. In Trnava, the blue and yellows will play with the wards of Pavel Hapal, for whom this match will be their debut. The game starts at 21.45 pm Kyiv time.
