WU-17: Ukraine's national team learns the names of its first contenders in the Euro 2020 selection

Today in Nyon the procedure for drawing the European Championships 2020 qualifying round among girls under the age of 17 took place. 

44 teams out of 47 participants took part in the draw. Spain and Germany, as the strongest teams in Europe, will start the selection from the elite round. Sweden, as the host of the tournament, received a pass to the final part of Euro 2020 (WU-17) automatically. 

44 national teams were divided into four draws for 11 teams each. By the will of the lot, the Ukrainian national team WU-17, which was in the third basket, reached the group 8, where its rivals were the Czech Republic, Serbia and Georgia.

Composition of all teams of the Qualifying Round UE2020

Group 1: England, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia.

Group 2: Switzerland, Turkey, Romania, Moldova.

Group 3: France, Iceland, Belarus, Malta.

Group 4: Finland, Austria, Slovakia, Estonia.

Group 5: Norway, Slovenia, Azerbaijan, Faroe Islands.

Group 6: Denmark, Russia, Wales, Macedonia.

Group 7: Ireland, Greece, Lithuania, Albania.

Group 8: Czech Republic, Serbia, Ukraine, Georgia.

Group 9: Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan.

Group 10: Italy, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Montenegro.

Group 11: Netherlands, Portugal, Israel, Latvia.

The hosts who will host the matches of each group will be determined later. 

Qualifying round matches will take place approximately from August 15 to October 27, 2019. The winners of the groups, the winners of the second places and the four best winners of the third (following the matches with the first and second teams) will join Spain and Germany in the elite round.

The draw for this stage (seven groups of four participants) will take place on November 22, 2019, and the matches - in the spring of 2020. In the elite round, seven teams (group winners) will be determined, which will form the company of Sweden in the final tournament. It will take place in May 2020.
