Euro 2020 (U-19): Ukraine's youth team will be in the first sowing basket before the draw of the qualifying round
The draw for the qualifying round of the 6 European Under-2020 Championship will take place on December 19 in Nyon, Switzerland. Rivals of the youth national team of Ukraine will be determined (now U-18 - players born in 2001, coach - Oleg Kuznetsov).
The draw will involve 52 of the 54 national teams that will take part in the European U-19 Championship, which will be held in Northern Ireland. The hosts of the tournament qualify for the final part of the competition automatically. The Portuguese national team as the strongest team in the UEFA rankings received a direct pass to the elite round of selection. The remaining participants were divided into four baskets of 13 teams according to their rating. We will note that the youth national team of Ukraine U-19, having the seventh factor, hit basket A.
Sowing baskets
Cart A: France, England, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine, Austria, Spain, Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Croatia.
Cart B: Slovakia, Sweden, Serbia, Belgium, Norway, Poland, Denmark, Ireland, Scotland, Georgia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel.
Cart C: Hungary, Finland, Switzerland, Romania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Cyprus, Macedonia, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Wales, Belarus, Iceland.
Cart D: Lithuania, Kosovo, Estonia, Moldova, Luxembourg, Albania, Malta, Armenia, Andorra, Kazakhstan, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, San Marino.
During the draw, 13 groups of four teams will be formed (one representative of each basket). After that, the hosts of the mini-tournaments will be determined, and the matches of this stage will be completed by November 19, 2019.
The two strongest teams from each group and the best among the third-ranked teams (by meeting with the two leaders of their group) will advance to the elite round. The matches of this stage will take place in spring 2020.
The winners of the seven elite round groups will make it to the final stage, which will be held in July 2020 in Northern Ireland.
