Officially. Vorskla - Arsenal Europa League match moved from Poltava to Kiev
Tonight the Football Federation of Ukraine received a letter from UEFA informing about the change of the venue of the match of the fifth round of the Europa League "Vorskla" (Poltava, Ukraine) - "Arsenal" (London, England).
The letter, in particular, states that the UEFA special commission has decided to move the match between Vorskla and Arsenal from Poltava to Kyiv. The match is to take place on November 29 at the capital's Olimpiysky National Sports Complex (starting at 19.55:XNUMX p.m.).
The fact is that Arsenal planned to arrive at Kharkiv airport, and from there to get to Poltava by bus. However, the document states, given that the Kharkiv region, through which Arsenal planned to travel by bus, is one of the regions of Ukraine where martial law will be imposed on November 28, 2018, it would be irresponsible to require the team to travel through this region. Pursuant to Article 79 of the UEFA Europa League Regulations 2018/2019, a special commission has taken an urgent decision, which is final.
The Special Commission includes: UEFA President Alexander Cheferin, UEFA First Vice President Carl-Eric Nilsson, UEFA Vice President Fernando Gomes and UEFA Executive Members John Delaney and Servette Yardimchi.
