Andriy Pavelko: “Our goal is to be among the participants of the European Championship according to the results of the qualifying tournament”

President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko, who was present at lottery ceremony of the Euro-2020 qualifying tournament, commented after the procedure was completed.

- A good draw, a strong group, - said the head of the FFU. - For our fans, I'm sure it will be an interesting match against the current European champions - the Portuguese. The three teams are the winners of the League of Nations groups, which will make the competition high and the matches spectacular.

Our goal is to be among the participants of the European Championship, which for the first time in history will be held in 12 different countries. We have to support our team. I urge all fans to pay maximum attention to the national team next year. It is necessary to create such an atmosphere that the team felt real support and showed a decent game and a positive result with strong opponents.

The group is not easy, the teams will aim to take points from each other.

- What did you think when Serbia dropped out of the third basket?

- We know this team well, we met with it not so long ago in Kharkiv. This is a strong opponent who has won his group in the League of Nations. Yes, we may have wanted simpler opponents, but now we have a good opportunity to test our strengths and show our best game, which we have already seen in the performance of the team in recent matches.
