Premier League: Alexandria lost opportunity for winter break in second place

The program of the autumn part of the season in the Ukrainian championship among the teams of the Premier League ended with two matches on Sunday. "Alexandria" lost to "Lviv" at home, and in Kyiv "Olympic" and "Desna" signed a world match.

For the team from Alexandria, the result of the meeting with Lviv was of fundamental importance, because in case of victory it had a chance to book a second place in the first part of the season.

But the Alexandrians failed to win the title of "autumn vice-champions". The first attack of the guests led to a corner, after which Yuri Bakalov's wards opened the scoring: Adamyuk scored from close range. And in the 30th minute, the same Adamyuk, taking a great pass from Martan from his half of the field, beat Pankiv for the second time. Only under the curtain of the match, the hosts played one ball when Shendrik was the first to finish after Nikitsey's shot.

In another match, "Desna", having missed the first from "Olympic", managed to win back and end the match with a draw. Thanks to the earned tournament score, Oleksandr Ryabokon's team rose to the top six, advancing Mariupol by the best results in face-to-face meetings. The "Olympians", having finished the fourth match in a row (six rounds without victories), remained ninth with a solid lag behind the desired sixth line.

The 19th round of the Premier League is scheduled for February 23, 2019 (base date).
