Futsal FIFA World Cup 2020: results of the draw for the Ukrainian national team in the second round of qualification

The first two stages of selection for the 2020 Futsal World Cup in the European zone took place in Nyon, Switzerland.

Qualifying for the UEFA World Cup will consist of four stages: the preliminary round, the main round, the elite round and the playoffs. Ukraine national team thanks fifth position in the ranking got right to the second stage.

According to the draw of the main round, the Blue and Yellows will play in Group 2, where they will play exactly against the Slovenian team. Also in this quartet will be the winner of Group C of the previous round (Macedonia, Albania, Greece, San Marino) and the national team, which will take second place in Group B of the preliminary round (Belarus, Norway, Kosovo, Andorra).

Preliminary round

Group A: Latvia, England, Cyprus, Gibraltar.

Group B: Belarus, Norway, Kosovo, Andorra.

Group C: Macedonia, Albania, Greece, San Marino.

Group D: Georgia, Denmark, Germany, Israel.

Group E: Belgium, Sweden, Armenia, Malta.

Group F: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Switzerland, Scotland.

Group G: Holland, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Estonia.

Group H: Finland, Moldova, Wales, Northern Ireland.

The main round

Group 1: Spain, Poland, Group D winner, Group H second team

Group 2: Ukraine, Slovenia, Group C winner, Group B second team

Group 3: Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Group H winner, Group G second team.

Group 4: Italy, Hungary, Group B winner, Group A second team.

Group 5: Kazakhstan, Romania, Group G winner, Group C second team.

Group 6: Serbia, France, Group E winner, Group F second team.

Group 7: Russia, Croatia, Group F winner, Group E second team.

Group 8: Portugal, Czech Republic, Group A winner, Group D second team.

The matches of the preliminary stage will take place on January 29 - February 3, 2019 in Latvia, Belarus, Macedonia, Georgia, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Moldova. The two best teams from each group will advance to the next qualifying round.

The matches of the main round will take place on October 22-27, 2019 in Poland, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Italy, Romania, France, Croatia and Portugal. The first and second teams of each group will make it to the elite round.

In the penultimate stage of selection, 16 national teams will be divided into four quartets on November 7, 2019, the winners of which will go directly to the World Cup. The fights of the elite round will take place on January 28 - February 2, 2020. The teams that take second place in the groups will advance to the playoffs, where two more World Cup tickets will be drawn. Butt matches are scheduled for April 9 and 12, 2020.

Thus, six European selection teams will join Lithuania at the World Cup, which will host the World Forum on September 12 - October 4, 2020.

We will also add that AFC (Asia) will be able to send five teams to the 2020 World Cup, CAF (Africa) - three, CONCACAF (North and Central America) - four, CONMEBOL (South America) - four, OFC (Oceania) - one. A total of 24 teams will take part in the world championship.
