A slight injury that prevented the midfielder of the national team of Ukraine Yevgeny Makarenko to finish 2018 on the field as part of Anderlecht, somewhat spoiled the positive impressions of the game of our footballer in the first part of the 2018/2019 season.

Having experience of playing in the Belgian league in the ranks of "Kortrijk", Makarenko, who moved to the more titled and ambitious "Anderlecht" in the summer, immediately became a solid player in the main team of the capital. We are sure that if health problems had not been mentioned, Eugene would have added a few more fights to his statistical treasury at the end of the year.

However, the result of 20 matches played for Anderlecht will be enough to consider the first steps of the Ukrainian wagon in the new team successful. In Belgium, the coaches use the former right-back of Dynamo Kyiv as a supporting midfielder. Apparently, the leader of the national team sees Makarenko in this part of the field, but we think he does not forget about the rich experience of Eugene as a fullback.

As for the team's intermediate place in the standings, then, given the history of Anderlecht, not everything is so great. Brussels will celebrate the New Year in fifth place with 34 points.

2019 for the capital's FC will begin on January 20 with an away match against Ghent Roman Yaremchuk and Ihor Plastun.
