Today, December 27, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine took place in Kyiv.

One of the items on the agenda, which the executive committee considered and supported, was the issue of termination by mutual consent of cooperation with the head coach of the youth national team of Ukraine in the qualifying round of Euro-2019 (U-21) Oleksandr Golovko. The members of the executive committee thanked Oleksandr Golovko for fruitful cooperation and wished him success in his future coaching career.

Also, based on a proposal from the Committee of the National Teams Teams of the Federation of Football of Ukraine, Ruslan Rotany was appointed as the new head coach of the U-21 youth team.

"It is a great honor for me to lead the youth national team of Ukraine," said the new team leader Ruslan Rotan. - In my playing career, the national team has always been a special team, and I have always defended its colors with pride. I will try to justify such trust as a coach and not let anyone down - especially our fans.

I understand the responsibility on my shoulders, but I am ready for it. On the one hand, this proposal came as a surprise to me, but after talking to the head coach of the national team Andriy Shevchenko, FFU President Andriy Pavelko, such an authoritative specialist as Myron Markevich, First Vice President Oleg Protasov, all doubts disappeared. I know well in which direction the first team of the country works, and I will try to follow the same line, but within the framework of my football vision. I will still formulate specific tasks, but they are so clear - we need to take first place in the qualifying group for the 2021 European Championship and help prepare players for the national team. "

After the appointment of Ruslan Rotan, Myron Markevich wished the new head coach of the youth to be the coach he was: "I wish Ruslan to be a principled coach, a persistent and true leader."
