Premier League: Vorskla lost to Arsenal-Kiev and lost to Mariupol top six
Today, the first stage of the Ukrainian championship ended with a match between Arsenal-Kyiv and Vorskla. Poltava failed to win in the capital and remained in the second six.
In case of victory, the guests rose to fifth place, and they were close to getting the result they needed. The Gunners opened the scoring at the start of the match after a corner kick. Vorskla found the strength to play back and score the second goal - Sharpar twice successfully executed an 11-meter. But the last word was left to the hosts: Vakulenko also scored a double from the penalty spot and left Vasyl Sachko's wards in seventh place. Most of all, Mariupol should be happy about it, which in case of victory of Poltava fell to the second six.
So, in the second stage, Shakhtar, Dynamo, Oleksandriya, Zorya, Lviv and Mariupol will compete for the first-sixth places. These teams will fight for medals and tickets to European Cups. The second six were Vorskla, Karpaty, Desna, Olimpik, Chornomorets and Arsenal-Kyiv, which will compete for seventh-twelfth places. It will be recalled that according to the current regulations, the team that finishes 12th will leave the Premier League directly. The teams that will eventually take 11th and 10th place will play head-to-head matches for the right to participate in the UPL championship next season with the second and third clubs of the first league, respectively.
The matches of the 23rd round according to the decision of the UPL, which was approved by the FFU Executive Committee, moved from March 30 to early April in connection with the election of the President of Ukraine. In the first round of the second stage of the championship, Shakhtar will meet Oleksandriya on the road, and Dynamo will visit Zorya.
