Ruslan Rotan: “The guys wanted to win and created enough moments for that”

Head coach of the Ukrainian national team Ruslan Rotan commented on the result of his first match at the head of the team.

In preparation for selection for Euro-2021 (U-21) blue and yellow are involved in friendly tournament in Turkey. Today in the first match of the competition they are draw with Estonia (0-0). Head coach Ruslan Rotan praised the action of his team.

Congratulations on your debut. Was there excitement before the first match as a coach of the youth team?

- Thank you very much. Of course, I will always worry about my team both in terms of results and in terms of everything that concerns the team. As for the game, I want to compliment the players. I liked their dedication, passion. They wanted to win and created enough moments for that. In the end, there is nothing wrong - we work only the third day, the guys get used to our requirements. It is gratifying that they do it, even if something turns out better and something worse.

You spent two halves with different syllables. Want to see as many artists as possible?

- We try to give all the guys playing practice. Today we gave a little more time to those who did not play for their club so often. There are players who come on the field on a regular basis, so we had substitutions, and some played for 20 minutes. We collect information on the match, it is very important for us.

Did the players complete the task for the game?

- Of course, not one hundred percent. We always want to win, so we would like to win today.
