U-17: Ukraine's youth team begins elite round of selection for Euro-2019 with a sure victory over Kosovo
Today the U-17 youth team of Ukraine (football players not older than 2002) has started the decisive stage of the fight for the final of the European Championship.
In Nyon, Switzerland, matches began elite round in group 5. The first rival of Vladimir Jezersky's wards was the Kosovo team, which just like the Ukrainian team, ranked highest in her quartet of the qualifying round.
At the beginning of the match, the opponents looked more active - Ruslan Nescheret had to enter the game several times. However, withstanding the initial pressure of the Kosovars, the Ukrainians opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Viktor Bliznichenko took a corner, and Arseniy Batagov closed the transfer of a partner. Soon, thanks to Shakhtar striker Bohdan Vyunnyk, the blue-and-yellows doubled their advantage.
By the end of the first half, the Ukrainians had earned many standards and the most active in our team was Bliznichenko. During the break the mentor of the opponents made a number of substitutions, but it did not help to influence the course of events on the field. As a result, our team managed to retain the advantage gained in the first half of the meeting.
The next match the youth team of Ukraine will hold against peers from Greece. The match will take place on Thursday, March 28.
