U-19: Ukraine's youth team defeated Belgium but failed to make it to Euro 2019
Today U-19 youth team of Ukraine (football players not older than 2000 year of birth) finished the fight for the final of the European Championship.
After a draw with Serbia (2:2) and defeat against Italy (1:3) The chances of our team breaking into the Continental Forum seemed illusory. To win the first stage in blue and yellow, it was necessary to defeat Belgium and hope for an acceptable outcome of a parallel game. Our guys coped with the first task.
The Ukrainians missed a quick ball - in the 10th minute, the opponent's striker Bussaid scored. Immediately, our team could have missed again, but Trubin was helped by the goal frame. The Belgians continued to press and created a few more moments, but in the 19th minute, with the help of the miner Kholod, the blue and yellows regained their balance. Before the break, both teams created several more goal chances, but the score did not change.
At the beginning of the second half, the national team of Ukraine managed to get ahead - after the corner, the defender of "Olympic" Snurnitsyn. In the 66th minute, our team wasted another dangerous moment, and soon Bussaid made a double after the standard.
The last minutes of the match were spent in a tense struggle, and the players committed a lot of fouls. And yet the limb remained for the Ukrainians. First, in the 88th minute, Arsenal-Kyiv midfielder Mudryk put his team ahead. The Belgians ran to play back and exposed the rear, as a result of which they missed from Dynamo Tsitaishvili and from Mudryk from the penalty spot. At the same time, the rivals finished the match by ten.
Unfortunately, even the crushing victory did not allow Serhiy Nagornyak's wards to get to Euro-2019. The Italian national team received a ticket to Armenia, where the final part will take place from July 14 to 27.
