The new season of "Open football lessons" started in Zaporozhye

On April 2, a new season of the FFU Open Football Lessons social project, supported by the European Union, started in Zaporizhia. The seminars for volunteers were preceded by a press conference held in the conference hall of the Zaporizhia Reykarts Hotel.

"I greet and thank all the participants of the seminars. To help children, you managed to unite local authorities, volunteers, physical education teachers, child coaches, school psychologists, police officers, parents. I support you and I am convinced that football is an effective tool for the integration of displaced children into local communities, ”Vadym Kostyuchenko, FFU First Vice President, congratulated the seminar participants.

Yevhen Stolitenko, National Project Coordinator from the Football Federation of Ukraine, spoke at the press conference; Viktor Mezheiko, Chairman of the Zaporizhia Regional Football Federation; Eduard Gugnin, Deputy Head of the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration; Natalia Vlasova, Head of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, as well as the head coach of Luhansk Zorya Yuriy Vernydub.

The European Union supports Open Football Lessons because it is very important for children who have been left without their homes and have been forced to move to new places. They all expect our attention and support in the future. Your project helps these children to integrate into a peaceful society and find new friends, "said Vadym Stirbu, Sector Manager of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.

Hanna Madsen, Program Director of the Association of Cross-Cultural Projects, said in her speech: "This is my first time in Ukraine, but I can already say with confidence that your country is becoming a fashion legislator in our project. You work very well to help children." 

During the press conference, everyone present was presented with an emotional promotional post about the project's activities and an updated tutorial for volunteers to learn new exercises and games.

Over the next seven days, three seminars will be attended by 230 physical education teachers, child coaches, school psychologists and juvenile prevention police officers, who in turn will train as many field assistants - young leaders who are future volunteers.

At the end of the press conference, a pleasant surprise awaited the seminar participants. The chairman of the Football Federation of Zaporizhia region Viktor Mezheiko handed over tickets for the match of the Ukrainian Premier League "Zorya" (Luhansk) - "Dynamo" (Kyiv) to all participants.
