April 14 in the fields of STC. V. Bannikov hosted the matches of the second Defender charity tournament dedicated to the participants of the hostilities in eastern Ukraine. Seven teams of active-duty servicemen, anti-terrorist operation veterans and activists took part in the competition.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Tereshchenko, Head Coach of the U-15 Youth Team Serhiy Nagornyak, Advisor to the President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Valentyn Latypov.

"I sincerely wish you an interesting game and victories! However, I know for sure that there will be no losers among you, because with your bravery in battle you have already proved that you are winners! We are proud of you and thank you for the peace you protect, ”Serhiy Nagornyak addressed the participants of the competition.

I want to get a positive charge of vigor and bright football emotions in these competitions! Glory to you and glory to Ukraine! ” - Valentin Latipov wished the teams.

I am glad that even in the rear you show the whole world your courage and steadfastness. Good game and victory, because the will to win very often beats the class. Glory to the heroes, glory to Ukraine! ”Oleksandr Tereshchenko addressed his comrades-in-arms.

In a fierce sports struggle, the team "Army" won the tournament, defeating the debutant of the competition, the team "Municipal Guard", with a score of 4: 0. Bronze medals were won by Meteor players.

The winners and all participants of the tournament received commemorative cups and medals from FFU.
