Andriy Pavelko: "The equipment for organizing the work of the VAR system, as we promised, was presented at the Cup final in Zaporozhye"

On May 15, in Zaporizhia, before the final match of the Cup of Ukraine of the 2018/2019 season, the equipment necessary for the operation of the VAR system in Ukraine was presented.

After the agreement and signing of the memorandum with FIFA and IFAB, its testing and training of referees who will work with the VAR system at matches will begin. About this site ffu.ua said the president of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko.

- I am glad to inform the football community that during the final in Zaporizhia, as we promised, equipment was presented that will be used in the system of video replays and will help minimize the number of errors of referees during matches.

We still have a lot of procedures and approvals ahead of us, which are included in the list of requirements, the fulfillment of which is a prerequisite for launching VAR in Ukraine. In particular, it is the approval and signing of a memorandum with FIFA and IFAB, training of referees, testing of technology and equipment and, again, evaluation of the work done by FIFA and IFAB specialists. After the completion of all these stages of training, the VAR system will fully work on football matches in our country, - said Andriy Pavelko.
