Ruslan Rotan: “There are players in the U-20 team we are following in the World Cup”

The head coach of the youth national team of Ukraine Ruslan Rotan shared his impressions from the start of the national team of Ukraine U-20 at the World Cup in Poland, where the blue and yellows defeated in the first match Team USA (2: 1).

- Well done guys, they showed character, - said Ruslan Rotan. - They took the lead, then missed, and it was a little difficult. But in the second half they scored the second goal and brought the game to a logical end. It is very good that the Ukrainians managed to start the World Cup with a victory.

As for the performers who play in the World Cup and are suitable for our team, we, of course, follow them and count on them.

- Is there any hope that these players will grow to the level of the national team?

- Of course, we are once again convinced that there are talented football players in our country. We need to work with them, open them. Ukraine has always had good players. Our task is for even more footballers to play at a high level after the age of 21.

- How do you like the World Cup in Poland in general?

- This is the world championship, so the result comes first in the teams. It is good that Ukraine won in the first round. The Americans were our competitors, then our team will have a good chance to leave the group. I see that the team has confidence, there are good performers, so we expect a good result in the future.
