On the start day of the Valery Lobanovsky Tournament, its participants laid flowers to the monument to the outstanding Ukrainian coach

This morning, the participants of the Valery Lobanovsky Tournament honored the memory of the great coach by laying flowers at his monument at the capital's Dynamo Stadium.

Representatives of the youth national teams of Ukraine, Cyprus, Israel and Bulgaria laid flowers at the foot of the Metro monument on the day of the start of the Valery Lobanovsky Tournament. Oleh Protasov, First Vice-President of the Ukrainian Football Association, joined the ceremony at Kyiv's Dynamo Stadium.

Oleg Valeryevich noted that the ceremony, dedicated to the start of the Tournament Valery Lobanovsky, aimed to emphasize respect for the memory of a prominent Ukrainian coach:

It is not for nothing that we are holding two matches of the tournament at Olimpiysky. After all, it was in this arena that Valery Vasyliovych won his main victories. Moreover, holding matches at the main stadium of the country adds status to the competition.

We are trying to bring to the Ukrainian youth awareness of the greatness of Lobanovsky's personality, what it means for Ukrainian football. The latest example is the purchase by the Ukrainian Football Association of the Valery Lobanovsky family of 200 copies of a book about an outstanding coach that we presented today to the youth and youth teams of Ukraine. Even if not everyone reads it to the last page, I still think it's the right step. After all, a simple acquaintance with such a book is certainly useful for young people. In addition, in the beginning of May, we held a memory tournament for Valery Vasilyevich, which was held at Lobanovsky's home school # 319 and was attended by high school students from different Kyiv schools. And in the fall, we plan to hold another Grand Coach Competition, but already among the younger students.

Also important recent events in the context of the development of youth football in Ukraine were the holding of the Blokhin Cup on June 2 and the invitation to communicate with the youth of the famous football player of Kyiv "Dynamo", winner of the "Golden Ball" -1986 Igor Belanov.

Finally, I want to wish our youth team to win this tournament. This year Valery Vasyliovych would have turned 80, so let the guys make every effort. "
