The Ukrainian women's national team played a draw with the Belarusian team in Kiev

Today, June 12, at the Obolon Arena in the capital, the national women's national team of Ukraine in preparation for qualification for Euro-2021 checkla friendly match against the team of Belarus.

To participate in the meeting, the head coach of the blue and yellows Natalia Zinchenko invited 13 players from the national championship, as well as eight legionnaires who play in the championships of Turkey, Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, USA, Israel and France. The list also includes a debutant - Nicole Kozlova from the American club "Virginia Tech". 

By the way, the women's national team played its last match in the capital of Ukraine in 2014, with the national team of Belarus. In the selection for the 2015 World Cup, the Ukrainians won - 8: 0. In total, the blue-and-yellows have played 23 matches against the Belarusian team in history, winning 18, drawing four times and losing once.

This time the Belarusian footballers played much better on Ukrainian soil, avoiding defeat and conceding only one goal in Kyiv. And before the match there was a pleasant and emotional event. Ivan Shepelenko, Deputy Chairman of the Women's Football Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association, congratulated its captain, Zhytlobud-100 midfielder Darya Apanashchenko, on the 1th match in the T-shirt of the national team.

The starting minutes of the match at Obolon-Arena passed for the advantages of the Ukrainians, and in the 4th minute Veronika Andrukhiv had the opportunity to open the score. The guests for the first time dangerously disturbed the Ukrainian defense in the 12th minute, but Anastasia Linnik from a favorable position did not hit the frame.

The game account was opened in the middle of the first half, after Olga Ovdiychuk used Belarusian defense mistakes. At the end of the half Olga was able to draw a double, but having beaten two opponents, the Ukrainian could not cope with the goalkeeper.

During the break, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Natalia Zinchenko made several substitutions, and the rotation of the team led to a loss of vigilance of the hosts at their gates. As a result, after the corner Ksenia Kubichnaya equalized. The Ukrainians tried to snatch victory, created several good opportunities, but in the end still a draw - 1: 1.

It will be recalled that the Ukrainians will start the qualifying tournament for Euro-2021 on September 3 with a home match against the reigning Olympic champion, two-time world champion and eight-time European champion - the German national team. The game will take place in Lviv at the Lviv Arena. In 2019, Natalia Zinchenko's wards will hold two more away matches - on October 5 with the same Germany and on October 8 with Ireland. The remaining matches of the qualifying tournament of the European Championship, including against the national teams of Greece and Montenegro, the Ukrainians will play in 2020.
