Lyubysha Tumbakovich: “Our goal is to qualify for the final of the European Championship”

Today at a special press conference in Belgrade, Ljubisa Tumbakovic was officially introduced as the head coach of the Serbian national team.

On July 2, a press conference was held at the Hilton Hotel in Belgrade, at which the leadership of the Football Association of Serbia officially introduced Ljubisa Tumbakovic as the new coach of the White Eagles. The event was attended by FSS President Slavisa Kokeza and Vice President Nenad Bekovic.

The head coach of one of the contenders of the national team of Ukraine in the qualifying round of Euro-2020, answering the questions of journalists, told about:

work in the national team and its immediate task: "It is a privilege and an honor to be the head coach of our national team. I am taking on perhaps the biggest professional challenge of my career. I will make every effort, I will apply all my knowledge to achieve a good result, and this is first of all - qualification for the final part of the European Championship ";

disgraced Serbian national team players: "I will never give up performers who can strengthen the team's game. I will use my skills, experience and charisma to make all the players feel that the doors of the national team are not closed for them. This also applies to Luka Milivojevic and Mateja Nastasych. We will try to find a common language with them and join them in the team to help them get the result. I have a plan for the next few months, and it's not just about these two players. There are more players I will talk to. They are our wealth, we do a common cause for the sake of our country ";

new coaching staff: "Alexander Yankovich and Darko Beloevich will definitely be there, and we will invite the rest in the coming days. There will not be too much coaching staff, but it will be able to work. I have a great desire to continue cooperation with Bat Mirkovich. We are currently trying to persuade him to join us ";

agreement period: "The agreement was signed until December 31, 2021. This suggests that the FSS's strategy is to try to achieve results over a longer period of time. This is a professional approach. In the short term, little progress can be made. However, every goal set but not realized is a failure. We will try to jointly fulfill our plan in this qualification to go to the European Championship. "
