A five-day NTZ of arbitrators and assistant arbitrators of the UPL has started
Today in the House of Football the official opening of a training gathering of referees and assistant referees of the Premier League of Ukraine took place.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by First Vice-President of the Ukrainian Football Association Vadim Kostyuchenko and UAF Arbitrators Committee Chairman Luciano Luci. The theoretical and practical sessions, as well as the tests and familiarization of the arbitrators and their assistants with the VAR system will take place until July 7.
The Ukrainian Premier League matches now include 23 main referees and 43 assistant referees. UAF has prepared a program for them, which includes a large number of theoretical and practical classes. The participants were greeted by Luciano Luci, who outlined the main tasks facing the judges and their assistants.
"First of all, this fee should be a starting point for you to quickly master the innovations of FIFA and UEFA in the rules of football, which will be in force next season. And, secondly, you need to get acquainted with the system of video assistance to arbitrators - VAR. This is very important, so on the third day of the seminar I will personally supervise the lecture on the use of VAR on the basis of UEFA documents, "said Luci.

However, according to the chairman of the Committee of Arbitrators, NTC participants should consider that the preparation and implementation of the VAR system is a long multi-level process. Therefore, in the first six months of the new season will have to focus on arbitration, not counting on a system of video replays. "Last season was quite positive, but some mistakes still took place. Correcting them is also the subject and task of this collection. We need to add even more as arbitration, "said the chairman of the arbitration committee.
Vadym Kostyuchenko, in turn, stressed: “The Ukrainian Football Association is your reliable partner and makes every effort to constantly improve the training and retraining of referees and assistant referees. Instead, we hope for a professional attitude to pre-match training, exemplary behavior both on and off the football field, high moral and ethical qualities and an increase in the level of arbitration. I am confident that new technologies, in particular the VAR system, will significantly strengthen Ukrainian arbitration and help it in its work, which will only contribute to the development of Ukrainian football. "

UPL arbitrators and their assistants were tested yesterday for knowledge of the UEFA game rules and video tests, as well as read the changes and additions to the IFAB-2019/2020 Rules of the game. Today, shortly after the opening of the seminar, the judges attended a theoretical session to learn about the current requirements of FIFA and UEFA for teamwork and interaction.
In the future, Ukrainian referees should study UEFA's recommendations on the interpretation of the game by hand and the episodes related to fixing the "offside" position. The day will end with a high-intensity exercise.
Tomorrow the program of the seminar includes theoretical classes on illegal actions with hands, delays and blocking of rivals, as well as interpretation of negligence violations, etc.
Finally, on Saturday, the VAR video technology arbitration will be discussed. The arbitrators will also hold theoretical sessions in groups dedicated to interpreting different game situations.
