The Premier League. Colossus debuted in elite victory over Mariupol

On Tuesday two matches of the 1st round of the Championship of Ukraine among the teams of Prem took place'were played.

Last year's debutant of the elite division, Chernihiv's Desna, started its second season in the UPL with a defeat. Oleksandr Ryabokon's team, which in the spring was only a little short of getting into the top six, lost to Lviv, which had just reached the top 6, but took the last place there. Lviv still relies on players from Brazil. The goals of the two representatives of this country brought the guests three points in Chernihiv.

But the absolute debutant of this season, "Colossus", started more successfully. The team from Kovalivka beat Mariupol, which is preparing to start in qualifying for the Europa League. Ruslan Kostyshyn's wards hosted the opponent at the capital's Obolon Arena, as their home stadium is currently under reconstruction. The Kolos-Mariupol match was the first in which the VAR system was used in the Ukrainian Premier League, although it is still offline.

Three more matches of the UPL opening round, which will feature the main favorites of the tournament, will be played tomorrow.
