Ukrainian U-19 Championship: 13 teams compete for a place in the UEFA Youth League

We present the participants of the U-19 Championship of the season 2019/2020, which will start on August 9.

As in the youth championship of Ukraine, an odd number of teams will take part in the U-19 championship in the 2019/2020 season (13 teams represent UPL clubs, plus Volyn and Metalurh from the first league). The vacant place of the disqualified "U-11" U-19 was not filled, so we saw only the traditional off-season changes. Arsenal-Kyiv and Chornomorets dropped out, the main teams of which dropped out of the Premier League (the Kyiv club stopped its participation in professional competitions altogether), and the debutants of the U-19 championship under the auspices of the UPL, Dnipro-1, came in instead. "And" Colossus ".

Both Dnipro and Kovalev prepared quite well for the transition to the level of the elite division. Last season, Dnipro-1 and Kolos announced their teams for the Ukrainian U-19 championship under the auspices of DUFLU. As a result, they reached the Final Four, which took place in Uman. Dnipro under the leadership of Viktor Bitsyura became its winners, and blacksmiths (coach - Andriy Kostenko) won bronze medals. That is, the reinforcement must be high quality. Not like last season in the face of "Desna", which managed to miss 124 goals and lose 25 matches out of 26.

The U-19 Championship of Ukraine, in contrast to the U-21 Championship, has a tournament motivation, because starting in 2015, the champion gets the right to play in the UEFA Youth League, which is held from the 2013/2014 season. And this tournament should be given special attention. It is only necessary to improve it - by uniting participants, dividing into several divisions, expanding the geography.

The Ukrainian U-19 Championship of the 2019/2020 season will consist of 26 rounds. It will begin on August 9. The first match between Shakhtar and Dynamo will take place in the 10th round (base date - October 25), the second - in the 23rd round (May 1). The first part of the championship will end with the 15th round (December 6), the second will begin approximately on March 6. The last tour is scheduled for May 22.
