Legends of football in Bukovina paid tribute to the memory of Andrei Gusin

In the Chernivtsi region, in the village of Putyla, they honor their compatriot, the famous midfielder of Kyiv "Dynamo" and the national team of Ukraine Andriy Husin, holding an annual tournament in his memory.

This past weekend has already happened sixth in the competition, which is gaining weight in the football world every year. As part of it, a tournament among children's teams was held, the winner of which was Chernivtsi "Sparta". Among fans, the cup was won by FC Vyzhnytsia, and the highlight of the football weekend was a gala match between veterans of the national team of Ukraine and Chernivtsi region. The game ended with the victory of the blue and yellow team with a score of 3: 1.

Little Putyla gladly met famous football players, many of whom once played with Andriy Husin and kept a good memory of him. Andriy's mother, Valentyna Vasylivna, comes from Putyla, where the future football player often rested as a child, and as an adult he visited relatives. A few years ago, the main stadium of the village, Karpaty, was renovated and named after Andriy Husin.

"Every year since October 2014, we have been holding a football tournament in Putyla. Children's, amateur and veteran teams play. In 2016, the national team of veterans of Ukraine became the guest of honor, and now it has come to Putyla for the second time. There are people with whom Andriy was in football: Myron Markevich, Anatoliy Demyanenko, Vladislav Vashchuk, Yuriy Maksimov… We are very pleased to see this wonderful team at the tournament in memory of my son, thanks to Oleg Sobutsky, who always meets and gladly responds on the offer to hold a match. These are our good friends, when they are close, life acquires new colors and meanings, "Valentina Gusina said at the opening ceremony.

The organizers of the memory tournament were the Ukrainian Football Association, Chernivtsi Regional Football Federation, the Association of Football Veterans of Ukraine and Agribusiness. It is worth noting the great work of the chairman of the CHOFF, vice-president and member of the Executive Committee of the AVFU Vasyl Orletsky, who took on many issues of the competition and, in particular, the gala match of football stars. 

In fact, only a bright figure of Andriy Husin could gather such a large number of famous football players in Putyla. Coaches Anatoliy Demyanenko and Volodymyr Lozynsky called on the following performers under the national team's flags: Myron Markevich, Oleg Sobutsky, Vladislav Vashchuk, Yuriy Maksimov, Serhiy Nagornyak, Eduard Tsikhmeistruk, Vitaliy Mandzyuk, Mykola Ishchenko, Andriy Khomyov, Vader Savoy, Vyacheslav Andriy Oksymets, Viktor Ulyanytsky, Oleksandr Venglynsky, Sviatoslav Syrota and Volodymyr Bondarenko. Veterans of Bukovyna were brought to the field with a captain's armband by Yuriy Shelepnytsky, the team consisted of Oleg Golobutsky, Alexander Didenko, Vladimir Pavlov, Oleg Kerchu, the famous national athlete Ivan Geshko…

Before the match, the famous veterans presented the Husin family with football souvenirs, the participants observed a minute of silence in memory of Andriy, many warm words were said… - This year, 18 teams came to the small village, which is a very solid figure. Children, amateurs, veterans and - a real decoration - football legends of Ukraine and Bukovina played. Only great respect for Andriy, respect for his parents allow him to organize a real football festival in Putyla. The regional football federation with the support of friends and partners will continue to hold the tournament, honoring our outstanding compatriot. "

It was a real pleasure to watch the football field, the great skill and zeal of outstanding players of the past years. Myron Markevich spent one and a half times in the game, who, by the way, invited Gusin in 1992 to the high-league "Carpathians". Vashchuk, Nagornyak, Maksymov, Tsykhmeistruk showed a bright game… By the way, Oleg Sobutsky opened the scoring in the middle of the first half. Volodymyr Bernyk soon equalized, adding intrigue to the match. In the end, everything was decided in the end, when Sobutsky twice closed shots from Nagornyak, bringing the score to 3: 1. A hat-trick from the vice-president of UAF and the organizer of the national team of veterans!

"The score in this game is of relative importance, the main thing was to gather together all those who knew and respected Andriy Husin, to remember him with a kind word and a friendly game," said Oleh Sobutsky. - The national team of veterans always responds to the invitation of Valentina and Leonid Gusin to play in the tournament. A person lives as long as he is remembered, as long as his good deeds and deeds are remembered. Andriy did a lot for Ukrainian football, was a true patriot, and even managed to help our military in the first months of the war. Vasyl Orletsky does a great job of organizing the tournament, it is his merit that everything takes place at the highest level. We will gladly come to Putyla in the coming years, as previously agreed.

And among the team's immediate plans is a visit to the East of Ukraine. On August 23 in Rubizhne and on August 24 in Stanytsia Luhanska we will hold matches with local teams, which will include the military. We will congratulate the locals and our defenders on Independence Day, play football, and give people joy in this difficult and long-suffering region. And next month we will go to the other end of the world, to Canada. First, on September 13 in Toronto we will take part in the Ukrainian festival and meet with the diaspora, and the next day we will hold a match with the national team of the Ukrainian community. "
