Before the friendly match between the national teams of Ukraine and Nigeria, a charity match for the Dnipro Cup took place between the team of journalists of Ukraine and the team of veterans of FC Dnipro.

The match has passed September 10 at the Olympic Reserves Stadium in Dnipro. Its main purpose was to help migrant children from eastern Ukraine.

The match was organized by the Ukrainian Football Association, the UPL, the News Center news agency, and the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Football Federation.

Before the game, the President of the Football Federation of Dnipropetrovsk region Viktor Andrukhiv addressed the teams with a welcoming speech, noting that the Dnipro Cup draw is held for the first time and will be an annual event that will unite Ukrainian football stars and journalists.

In the first half the forces were equal. Vadym Drobashko, a player of the national team of journalists, scored in the 32nd minute. But the veterans were not upset for long, and in the 37th minute Dmytro Kotyk equalized from the penalty spot. In the second half, the hosts could have scored again, but the journalists' goal was skillfully defended by Yaroslav Tvardovsky. However, Kostiantyn Pavlyuchenko brought the Dnipro veterans forward with a well-aimed shot. In the 50th minute, Dmytro Tymokhin from Vyacheslav Shevchuk's serve set a draw - 2: 2. The series of penalties was better performed by journalists - 4: 2.

Before the award ceremony, the first vice-president of UAF Vadym Kostyuchenko addressed the participants of the match with a congratulatory speech, noting: “I think that the veterans deserved more to win the Dnieper Cup, but the youth won. Congratulations to the team of journalists who dedicated their game to migrant children who will attend the Ukraine-Nigeria match. "

The result of the 2016 Parliamentary Cup was the construction and arrangement of rooms in the Primavera correctional center for children with disabilities. Thanks to the holding of the Parliamentary Cup-2017, a children's sports ground was built and opened in the village of Komyshuvakha, Popasna district, Luhansk region (10 km from the demarcation line). According to the results of the 2018 Parliamentary Cup, more than 50 children from Kramatorsk received football uniforms and equipment. The results of the Odessa Cup in 2016 and 2018 were the purchase of football equipment and sports equipment for migrant children from eastern Ukraine and the Crimea.
