Ukrainian Championship (U-21): two leaders and instability of most participants

An odd number of participants (11) and one transfer led to the fact that after seven rounds of the Ukrainian Championship (U-21) a real mix was formed in the standings.

We will remind, the reason that on start of the youth championship of Ukraine in a season-2019/2020 11 clubs (and the championship among U-19 teams - 13 clubs) came, consists in disqualification of U-21 and U-19 Olympic teams.

That is why there are currently two leaders in the U-21 championship. One - by the number of points scored (Vorskla, 19), the second - by the number of lost (Shakhtar, 0). Poltava, led by Oleg Krasnopyorov, is only one point ahead of the miners (Fernando Valente was replaced by Valery Kryventsov on the coaching staff in the summer).

At the start of the season, Vorskla managed to beat quite strong opponents (for example, Oleksandriya and Karpaty). That is, its leadership is difficult to consider accidental. In four cases out of six, Krasnopyorov's team won by one goal. And only Lviv and Karpaty were defeated - 6: 0 and 4: 1, respectively.

Shakhtar also have victories over Oleksandriya and Karpaty, as well as over Dynamo (2: 1). Kyiv won (Daniil Sukhoruchko's goal in the 53rd minute), but missed an own goal, and Artem Bondarenko scored the winning goal. Fernando Valente is entrusted with a place in the 16-year-old (!) Midfielder of the youth national team of Ukraine Oleh Ocheretko, and he thanked two goals - "Karpaty" and "Lviv". 17-year-old Georgy Sudakov also scored. Mykhailo Mudryk and world champion Danylo Sikan, experienced Andriy Boryachuk scored goals, and 19-year-old Brazilian defender Vitao scored in the last round in his debut game.

Dynamo, with one defeat in five games, shares third-fourth place in the standings with Alexandria. Oleksandr Lomko's wards (he replaced Andriy Kuptsov, who joined Volodymyr Sharan's coaching staff) have more to play than Yuri Moroz's team. And one more defeat. But the difference between goals scored and conceded (16-5) in "Alexandria" is better than Dynamo (12-8).

Kyiv misses in every match and won only one goal by two goals - against Karpaty at the start of the season (3: 1). But the team from Alexandria has three victories with a big score - Zorya (3: 0), Desna (5: 0) and Dnipro-1 (5: 1) suffered.

Other clubs of the youth championship of Ukraine cannot boast of stable results. Oleksiy Hetman (Mariupol) did not score a single point (he replaced Hennadiy Orba in the summer), but this is not the stability that the coaching staff and the players themselves want.

However, the best scorer of the championship, Stanislav Sorokin, plays in a team that is very unstable. And Kolos will win only when he scores, and more than one ball per match. At the start of the season, he scored a hat-trick in the meeting with "Mariupol" (4: 1), in the 7th round - a double with "Lviv" (2: 0).
