WU-17: Ukraine's national team starts the Euro-2020 qualifying round with a defeat

Ukraine's WU-2020 national team lost to Serbia in the opening match of the Euro-17 qualification tournament.  

Sergei Sapronov's players started in the first qualifying round of the European Championship 2020 (WU-17) with a defeat. The Ukrainian national team at the field of the Sports Center of the Football Union of Serbia in Stari Pazova gave the hosts a score of 2: 4.

The first half of the match was dictated by the Serbian team. She struck five blows in the plane of the blue-yellow goal, while our girls - none. However, Dragisa Zecevic's wards succeeded only once. Anastasia Chirich scored in the 45th minute.

At the beginning of the second half of the game, Nadiya Ivanchenko regained her balance, but in a minute Milica Andrić brought the Serbian team forward again. After that, the hosts continued to dominate and scored twice more in the visitors' goal.

Our team only managed to reduce the gap. In addition, the Ukrainians finished the match of ten. In the 85th minute, Yana Kotyk received a second warning and a red card.

The elite round of the Euro 2020 selection (WU-17) will include the teams that took the first and second places in each of the 11 groups of the qualifying round and the four best third teams (according to the results of the matches with the first and second teams of their groups). There they will join Spain and Germany. The draw for this stage will take place on November 21, 2019, and the matches - in the spring of 2020.
