UAF Football Academy Open: Three matches of the 5th round have taken place

On Saturday, October 26, at the sites of NTK. V. Bannikov held three matches of the 5th round of the UAF Football Academy championship.

In the artificial fields of NTK. V. Bannikov on the initiative of the Ukrainian Football Association and with the support of the Charitable Foundation "Football Development of Ukraine" are the games of the first championship of the UAF Football Academy.

The competition is attended by 10 metropolitan children's teams formed of football players born in 2010. The championship will end on May 30, 2020.

The matches between CYSS Champion and CYSS Peremozhets and SC Kyiv-FC Troieschyna will take place on other dates.

The development of children's and youth football is a priority in the activities of the UAF

During the next round of the UAF Football Academy championship, the first vice-president of the Ukrainian Football Association Vadym Kostyuchenko reminded journalists about the fundamental approach of the national association's leadership to training young players.

"The development of children's and youth football in Ukraine is one of the priorities in the activities of the UAF leadership team," said Vadym Kostyuchenko. - To think that football is a low-budget sport: say, throw a ball to the boys in the desert, put a couple of bricks instead of the goal, and the game itself will show which of the teenagers will be good players - is, to put it mildly, a misconception. And it is absolutely impossible to treat the preparation of future Ukrainian football on a residual basis. "

One of the UAF executives said that during the Academy championship it was decided to increase the size of the football field. The matches are now being played with teams from seven field players and a goalkeeper. 

"Watching the games of these children's teams, I can say that from match to match we can see the progress in their team actions. So, the theoretical work of coaches gives real results. However, at this stage we continue to profess a kind of Olympic principle: victory here is far from a priority. The main thing is that the guys feel like the only team and love football, "said Vadym Kostyuchenko.
