Procedure for drawing the elite round of the Futsal World Cup qualification 2020 in the European area

On November 7, Ukraine's Futsal team learns the names of their rivals in the elite round of European qualification for the World Cup 2020.

The draw ceremony will take place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland (starting at 15.15 pm Kyiv time). Four groups of four teams will be formed. The procedure will begin with determining the hosts of the groups. As seven bidders have applied, preference will be given to the four countries that will be the first to apply.

List of Applicant Cities: Zaporizhzhia (Ukraine), Malaga (Spain), Povoa di Varzin (Portugal), Nis (Serbia), Zagreb (Croatia), Brno (Czech Republic), Ekaterinburg (Russia).

Each host country will be sent to its group under the item number.

Pot 1: Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine.

The number 1 basket represents countries that came second in their groups in the main round. Position during sowing: 3-4.

Pot 2: Azerbaijan, Italy, Serbia, Slovenia.

The number 2 basket shows the countries that took first place in the main round but are lower according to the UEFA rating, than four representatives of the third basket. Position during sowing: 2.

Pot 3: Kazakhstan, Russia, Portugal, Spain.

The number 3 basket represents the countries that have been ranked first in the main round and are the highest rated in Europe. Position during sowing: 1.

It should be noted that during the draw national teams of Ukraine and Russia will be divorced. The matches of the elite round of selection of the World Cup 2020 will take place from January 28 to February 2, 2020. 

According to the UEFA quota, seven representatives of the Old World will enter the final of the World Cup, which will be held in Lithuania from September 12 to October 4, 2020. Lithuania, as the host of the competition, received an automatic pass to the finals. It will be joined by four winners of the elite selection teams and two other teams that will make the playoffs between the teams that will take second place. 

Note that the pairs that will play in the playoffs will be determined immediately after the draw of the elite round. The confrontation will be two-match. The teams that draw first and third will play the first match at home (April 9), and the return match - away (April 12). Accordingly, their rivals (2nd and 4th numbers) - on the contrary. The national teams of Ukraine and Russia, if they reach the playoffs, will also be divorced.

We will also add that AFC (Asia) will be able to send five teams to the 2020 World Cup, CAF (Africa) - three, CONCACAF (North and Central America) - four, CONMEBOL (South America) - four, OFC (Oceania) - one. A total of 24 teams will take part in the world championship.
