Ukrainian Cup 40+. The trophy went to the Veteran-Lucessk team from Lutsk

On November 2-3, the matches of the final stage of the Veterans' Cup of Ukraine in the 40+ age category, dedicated to the memory of the outstanding football player Yuriy Voinov, took place at the Central Stadium in Vyshneve. The winner of the prestigious competition was the team "Veteran-Luchesk" from Lutsk.

In the fight for the championship in this age category, four teams reached the finish line: "Veteran-Luchesk" (Lutsk), "Arcadia-Aval" (Odessa), "Niva" (Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district, Kyiv region) and " Veteran "(Boyarka, Kyiv region). According to the competition regulations, one team had to have no more than six players born in 1974-1979, the rest of the performers had to be born in 1973 and older.

The tournament was traditionally organized by the Association of Football Veterans of Ukraine and Agribusiness LLC.

On November 2, a fierce struggle was waged in the semifinals. Both representatives of the Kyiv region looked decent against the background of competitors from Odessa and Lutsk, but eventually lost.

The decisive matches of the prestigious cup tournament gathered a lot of spectators in the stands of the cozy arena in Vyshneve. Among them were the legends of national football - Volodymyr Muntyan and Andriy Biba.

Match for 3rd place

In the main game for the third place between the teams of Kyiv region, the Veteran from Boyarka proved to be stronger, beating Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi Niva - 1: 0.

Final

The real highlight of the cup tournament was the final match. Prominent players, including forwards Vasyl Sachko and Oleksandr Kosyrin, joined the Lutsk and Odessa teams. The spectators focused on them and waited for a little football miracle.

And already in the 8th minute Kosirin converted a penalty, bringing "Arkady-Aval" forward. After that, the initiative was firmly seized by the people of Lutsk. Vasyl Hetman's wards attacked powerfully, mostly delivering the ball to the penalty area with long passes. And in the end they achieved their goal - luck smiled on the tireless Viktor Kulbachinsky. The main time of the match ended with a score of 1: 1. In the penalty shootout, Veteran-Luchesk won 3: 1. Volyn goalkeeper Oleh Milinchuk played flawlessly (after four shots, only one ball flew into his goal).

Vasyl Hetman, the head of the Veteran-Luchesk team, spoke about the path to success: “In the 70s, a whole galaxy of great players was born in Volyn: Shevchuk, Tymoschuk, Gapon, Krukovets, Antonyuk and many others. I can also include Vasyl Sachko, who has long been our home.

Many guys still live in Lutsk or the region, play in various tournaments - the championship of the city or region. Veterana-Lucheska already has a stable lineup, everyone has known each other for a long time. This is really the team of our region, the only exception that has already become a good tradition - we invite 61-year-old Kyiv resident Igor Mentyukov. He scored for Niva in the semifinals and scored a post-match penalty in the final. Veteran-Luchesk was founded and supported by Vasyl Kokhanovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Volyn Football Federation. Winning the Cup of Ukraine 40+ was our main achievement this year. The last two seasons we were catastrophically unlucky - we lost in the final in a penalty shootout. With this in mind, they wanted to solve everything in the main time. It didn't work out, although we had a significant advantage on the field, we created moments. But for some reason there was a confidence that we would definitely win and break the unpleasant tradition. That's how it happened, for which I thank all our players and fans who warmly welcomed the team in Lutsk. "

The winners of the cup and medals were presented to the winners and prize-winners by Andrey Biba, Volodymyr Muntyan and AVFU Executive Director Vitaliy Kulibabenko.

Veteran-Luchesk midfielder Viktor Kulbachinsky received the prize for the best player of the tournament.

"The Cup of Ukraine among 40+ veterans closed the regular program of competitions held annually by the Association of Football Veterans of Ukraine," Vitaliy Kulibabenko summed up. - It remains to hold a New Year's mini-tournament in memory of Viktor Kolotov and Yevhen Rudakov. As for the Cup, all teams, despite the results shown, were satisfied with their participation in it. The second day of the competition was especially tense, when the pairs formed teams approximately equal in class. And the well-known names of the participants only added interest to the competition. In the end, everything was decided in a series of penalties. According to experts, the Lutsk team deservedly won the game and the result. I will note the good conduct of the final stage, which has traditionally taken place in Vyshneve. AVFU President Oleh Sobutskyi took over all the organizational aspects, so the teams could focus exclusively on football. Many thanks from the participants for this. The Cup of Ukraine 40+ is our business card, the association has been holding it since 1997. No wonder it is named after the legendary Yuri Voinov! Next year, our task is to expand the number and geography of participants. "
