Euro-2021 (U-21): Ukraine's national youth team gives way to Denmark

The fourth rival of the Ukrainian "youth" in the qualifying tournament of the European Championship was the leader of the group - the Danish national team, which won all three of its previous matches.

The blue-and-yellows started the match actively, applying, sometimes successfully, pressure. So the Danes' quick goal seemed illogical. Cooper in a simple situation, starting the attack, made a mistake, making a transfer to Alibekov. This pass was intercepted by Olsen, who took advantage of the opportunity. The Danish striker went with the ball almost to the goal area, freed himself from the care of the same Cooper and beat Bilyk with a beautiful shot.

The missed ball did not affect the plan of the Ukrainians for the game, because even a draw, based on the tournament situation, could not suit them. However, in the 14th minute, the hosts allowed the opponents to conduct another almost similar counterattack. This time Popov was wrong, but Bilyk managed to hit Brun-Larsen. A series of mistakes by Ruslan Rotan's wards did not end there. Alibekov was soon cut short, but Bilyk again insured his partners.

In general, the blue-yellows did not look their best after a short and medium pass. We managed to create a moment after the corner, but Popov did not get the final header. The Danes realized their corner. The double was scored by Olsen, who successfully joined the standard draw at the second pace. Only closer to the break, the hosts created tension at the opponent's goal: Kornienko's shot from a distance in the jump parried Christensen, and Shaparenko scored above the crossbar.

In the second half, the Ukrainians intensified their offensive actions. Shaparenko dangerously scored from the penalty spot - the Danes were rescued by the goalkeeper. Later, Rusyn ended his passage by hitting the post. But in the 59th minute Olsen swung Stetskov near the corner of the penalty area and scored in the far bottom corner. The ball ricocheted from the rack was in the net. 0: 3.

And only after that the account was able to "soak". The rapid attack of the Ukrainian national team ended with Vantukh's shot at Rusyn. 1: 3. Soon the scenario of the game changed dramatically. The Blue and Yellows gained a numerical advantage after the removal of Beh, who broke the rules in his penalty against Tsitaishvili. The goalkeeper parried a shot from the penalty spot by Shaparenko, but Tsitaishvili was the first to finish. Rotanya's final minutes were spent in attack, but they failed to equalize.

The next match of the qualifying tournament of the national team of Ukraine will be held on March 27, 2020 in the away game against the Malta team.
