Championship of Ukraine (U-19): stability of Dynamo and Shakhtar, progress of Volyn, failure of Alexandria

After 15 rounds, the Ukrainian U-19 championship went on winter vacation. Shakhtar players have to play the final match of the UEFA Youth League on December 11 (at home against Atalanta). And on December 16, Dynamo players will learn the name of their opponent in the playoff round. For them, unlike the miners, the Euro season continues.

These two teams lead the standings of the Ukrainian championship (U-19). The leader is Dynamo, but Shakhtar, which has one point less, has a game in hand. The rest of the competitors are gradually eliminated.

From the very beginning, the group of leaders included "Volyn", "Vorskla", "Alexandria" and "Lviv". Moreover, the Alexandrians under the leadership of Yuri Gura topped the standings. Yes, they were helped by more matches, but "Alexandria" also showed stability. But at the end of the first part of the season, the team simply failed, and the last two matches in general lost with a total score of 0: 8 and slipped to the sixth step.

Earlier, he refused to fight for the Lviv medal, which is currently at the bottom of the standings. There was also a failure in the game of the Carpathians, who won seven victories in a row from August 30 to October 25: the Galicians also did not hold the last matches of 2019 very confidently.

That is why Vorskla and Volyn are competitors of Dynamo and Shakhtar at the intermediate finish. Volynians increased their speed with the onset of cold weather and went on vacation after three victories in a row. But Vorskla lost the opportunity to reduce the gap with the leaders, losing in the last match of the year to Metalurh (0: 1).

Meanwhile, there is another serious dispute - between the top scorers of Dynamo (Vladislav Vanat) and Shakhtar (Abdulla Abdullayev). At the moment, the score is 19:18 in favor of Dynamo, a little more - and the record of performance for the season in the championship of Ukraine among 19-year-olds (20 goals) will fall.

And Vanat entered the top 5 best scorers of the championship of Ukraine (U-19) for all years - 28 goals. And he has a great chance to set a new record (the current one is 34 goals), because he can play in this tournament for another season and a half due to his age.

The season will resume in early March (base date of the 16th round - March 6). And even earlier (February 11-12) Dynamo U-19 will play in the playoffs of the UEFA Youth League. In case of victory, Kyiv will learn the name of a new opponent on February 14, with whom they will meet on March 3-4 in the 1/8 finals.
