Euro 2020. Austrian national team in the qualifying tournament: a failed start and finish

Given the final table of Group G qualifying for Euro 2020, we can assume that the Austrian national team, which is today's rival of our national team in the final part of the tournament, had no qualification issues.

However, after two starting rounds, the picture for the Austrians was not so rosy. And if the defeat of Poland, which eventually won the group, can still be somehow explained, the loss of Israel was somewhat unexpected.

However, after that, Franco Fody's team released an impressive seven-match series, where they shared the points with the Poles only once, and won the rest of the matches (including twice in Northern Macedonia) with a total score of 17: 3!

There was trouble in the final round, but due to the tournament struggle, the failure in Riga had no consequences for Austria.
