2019: results of the year for U-20 youth team of Ukraine
It was an incredible point in the biography of this youth team of Ukraine, which made it the best in our history.
Under the leadership of Alexander Petrakov, the team played in all three top tournaments that were possible at the youth level - Euro 2016 (U-17), Euro 2018 (U-19) and World Cup 2019 (U-20). And in 2018, the Ukrainians played in the semifinals of the European Championship and won bronze awards, and in 2019 became world champions.
The last time Ukrainian footballers won the world title was 32 years ago, when they were part of the Soviet Union in 1987 (U-17). In general, since independence, we have only two titles - in Europe in 2009 (U-19) and in the world in 2019 (U-20).
Petrakov's three wards were also awarded individual awards: Andriy Lunin - "Golden Glove", Sergey Buletsa - "Silver Ball", Danilo Sikan - "Silver Boots". In addition, the value of each player has increased. But this is just the beginning of their journey. A very bright start, which needs a quality sequel.

Vitaliy Mykolenko (Dynamo) was included in the previous version of the application for participation in the World Cup (U-20). But due to injury on May 23, he was replaced by Oleg Veremienko, who spent the spring of 2019 on loan in the second league.
Later it turned out that Mykolenko recovered from the injury fairly quickly. In early June, he played two Euro 2020 qualifying matches for the national team. But he was not destined to become a world champion. Unlike Andriy Lunin, who played four World Cup matches, he went to the national team for the June games and returned to the U-20 team for the semifinals and finals.
