The selection of Euro-2022 from the futsal, in which the national team of Ukraine will participate

Today, on January 29, the qualifying round of the European Futsal Championship qualifying round begins in the winter of 2022 in the Netherlands.

As noted before, the selection cycle will consist of four stages: a selection round (mini-tournaments), match play of the qualifying round (home and away matches), group qualifying stage (home and away matches) and stick games (home and away matches).

The host of Euro-2022, the Netherlands, will receive a direct ticket to the final stage. The teams that will take part in elite rounds of the 2020 Futsal World Cup, which is Azerbaijan, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, will start the group stage qualification. The rest of the participants start from the selection round.

Qualifying round

The teams are divided into nine groups of three or four teams and will play in the format of mini-tournaments. The matches of this stage will take place on January 29 - February 1. The winners of the groups will receive direct passes to the group stage of qualification. The nine second-place teams and the top five third-place winners (excluding the results of the matches against the fourth-place teams) will take part in head-to-head matches.

Group A: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland, Cyprus, Gibraltar.

Group B: Belgium, Montenegro, Armenia, Scotland.

Group C: Poland, Sweden, Greece, Malta.

Group D: Albania, Bulgaria, Andorra, San Marino.

Group E: Hungary, Turkey, Lithuania, Northern Ireland.

Group F: Georgia, Kosovo, Germany, Austria.

Group G: Latvia, Denmark, Estonia.

Group H: Moldova, England, Israel.

Group I: Northern Macedonia, Norway, Wales.

Play-offs

The 14 participants will be divided into seven pairs and will spend the match at home and away. Seven of the nine second place winners will play a return match at home. The teams that met in the qualifying round will be divided into different pairs. The winners will complement the participants of the group stage of qualification.

Group qualification stage

At this stage, the national team of Ukraine will start the fight. The blue-and-yellows will know their rivals on May 14 this year during the draw, which will take place in Nyon, Switzerland.

32 teams (16 participants of the elite round of the 2020 World Cup qualifiers, nine winners of the qualifying round groups and seven winners of the butt matches) will be divided into eight groups of four teams. For the first time in the history of the tournament, teams at this stage will play against opponents at home and away, holding two matches against each opponent in the group. Eight group winners and six top runners-up will join the Netherlands in the final stage. The last ticket will be played in the butt matches by the two remaining second place winners.

Play-offs

The two runners-up, who did not make it directly to the final tournament, will play head-to-head matches. The order of meetings will determine the draw. The winner of the butt matches will join the other 15 participants of the final stage.

The final tournament

The matches will take place in Amsterdam and Groningen. 16 teams will be divided into four groups. The two best teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
